There are lots of places you can got to get digital support in Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot.

The information has sections on where you can go for support, for help with equipment, training and digital courses and support with specific issues like digital finance.

SCVS Digital Support

Digital Support project can provide a volunteer to help someone one to one with their device and help them to use various technology.

Digital Drop In

Come along for friendly, informal, digital support where Digital Support Volunteers can:

  • Support you to use the library’s computers.
  • Support you to practice computing tasks, including emails, creating documents, using the internet, using social media, online shopping and more.
  • Support you to use carious features on your own digital device.

Venue: Y Storfa, 277-278 Oxford Street, Swansea, SA1 3EL

When: Thursdays: 1-4pm and Saturday: 10am – 4pm

Home Instead – Tech Tuesdays

A weekly drop-in on Tuesday’s held at Swansea National Waterfront Museum to use the internet and learn how to stay safe online.

Open to all for advice, support and guidance.

CETMA

One Stop Swansea is a one stop shop of support for 16 – 25 year olds. We can support with:

  • Assistance with government appeal forms through the We Are Digital courts project alongside HMRC
  • A space to learn about going online / using the internet as part of the Online Centres Network
  • A Databank where you can obtain free 02 / vodafone / Three SIM cards

Open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am – 4pm

Action for Elders

The ‘Go For I.T’ project helps older people get to grips with digital technology, helping participants to stay in touch with family and friends and embrace digital technology to make everyday tasks safer and easier.

Age Cymru West Glamorgan

Age Cymru West Glamorgan are offering digital services to support older people and their families/carers in building their confidence online. This is open to anyone who would like to learn new digital skills.

Swansea Mad

Swansea MAD is a vibrant community hub and digital inclusion charity based on Swansea High Street. As a Community Anchor and Warm Welcome Hub, we provide a safe, inclusive space where people can connect, learn and access support. Swansea MAD services include free access to the National Databank and Device Bank, offering data, SIM cards and digital devices to reduce digital exclusion.

Swansea MAD also offer Learn My Way digital skills sessions, helping people gain confidence online, access public services, find employment opportunities and stay in touch with family and community.

Help with equipment

The National Databank by Good Things Foundation

Like a foodbank but for mobile data, the National Databank provides free mobile SIM cards for people who can’t access the internet.
Members of the National Digital Inclusion Network, which is a network of organisations helping people use or access the internet locally, can apply for data packages anytime.

The National Device Bank by Good Things Foundation

Free refurbished laptops, mobile phones and tablets for people in need through The National Device Bank.

Screen Share

Screen Share is a charity which collects laptops and phones from individuals and businesses, refurbishes them through the power of volunteers and gives them to refugees in the UK for free.

WaveLength

WaveLength supports organisations that help people who are lonely, isolated, and living in poverty by giving free electronic devices, such as tablets, for clients.

Swansea Foodbank Tech Café

Swansea Foodbank Tech Café can help people using the foodbank who have no internet access at home or no communication methods. They may also have access to laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

NPT Council – Digital Enablement Service

Neath Port Talbot Council’s Digital Enablement Service visits individuals in their homes to assess whether they could benefit from technology to make day-to-day tasks easier.

This innovative facility is designed to offer essential support and guidance.

Appointments to visit the Digital Solutions Suite and view the assistive technology can be arranged by joining a group demonstration (max 6 places per session).

Swansea Mad

Swansea MAD run a variety of different projects for different people with different digital support needs. They offer advice, guidance and advocacy. Their Digital for All Project offers coaching and mentoring.

Swansea MAD’s services include free access to the National Databank and Device Bank, offering data, SIM cards and digital devices to reduce digital exclusion.

AbilityNet have a series of live online events to help share useful information for disabled people and their carers and employers.

Sessions include information for how technology can help with Dyslexia, essential tis for online safety and how to run online meetings and many more.

In partnership with the Digital Helpline we are offering free 1-2-1 training sessions.
